The One and Only Home that Sold in May – 2139 Del Amo Boulevard
As we’ve noted on our real estate recap, June was a nice rebound month for home sales in Old Torrance. Anything would be a good month compared with May which only had one home close escrow the entire month. The one home sale was a single family home on Del Amo Blvd that was listed and sold for $775,000.

In general the Torrance real estate market has been very solid thus far for 2020 and doesn’t seem to show any signs of slowing down.
Keeping Current With Torrance Real Estate – March Home Sales
While we focus primarily on real estate and homes for sale in Old Torrance, many buyers are also looking in other parts of Torrance and the South Bay. The entire city of Torrance saw 84 on market homes sell and close escrow during March. The number of pending sales has jumped considerably each month of 2020 thus far so one would have expected that to continue.

March numbers were not yet impacted by Covid 19 so that will likely change things quite a bit as many “pending” escrows have fallen out and are now back on the market. The median asking price was $787,000 with the median “sold” price at $815,000 which means that home were selling WAY over the list price indicating a market VERY favorable to sellers. The average price per foot was $515.80 and median days on the market was only 9 before going into escrow. 4 of the sales were in the 55+ community of New Horizons which was certainly more than any other specific neighborhood. Welcome to the gated communities and complexes of Plaza Del Amo. Conveniently located in the heart of beautiful Torrance CA. These wonderful communities offer an ideal housing solution for many home buyers. Plaza Del Amo is a street (actually two distinct streets) that range from Madrona to Crenshaw and then pick up a few blocks away from Torrance Blvd to Border Ave. The bulk of the complexes that make up Plaza Del Amo are centered around the Madrona to Crenshaw section but not all street addresses are actually Plaza . The housing options vary from condominium units, to townhouses, to detached three and four bedroom single family style homes.
